Studio Proun was founded in 2022 by digital designer Henk Haaima. 'Proun' refers to a series of artworks by the Russian early 20th century avant-garde artist El Lissitzky. Now, a century later, this style is again relevant in our era of the algorithm and the metaverse, in which we move from static webpages to dynamic webspaces. The WebVR spaces on this website explore how our rich tradition of (typo-)graphic design and abstract formalist painting can be introduced and continued in the digital spatial realm.
